COHISA Holds 42nd Inter-House Sports Competition
Western Ahoada County high school Ahoada also known as COHISA, one of the premier colleges in the country held its 42nd inter-house sports competition at the weekend at its sports field, Ahoada in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers state.
The sports meet which was chaired by an alumnus of the school, Dr. Eugene Esor was won by the Red House followed by White and Green Houses in second and third positions, respectively.
The event was a joint venture of the Universal Basic Education (UBE) and Senior Secondary School sections of the institution.
The Principals, Bishop Chukwuma Arloe (Senior section) and Sir Nwoduwa Jomo (Junior Section) in their address of welcome noted that COHISAsince its inception had lived to its purpose of establishment of training students in all domains, cognitive, affective and psychomotor.
He boasted that the institution has produced thousands of professionals who were working in all spheres of life. Asserting that the present chairman of Ahoada East Barr. Benjamin Eke and Ahoada West Evang. Hope Ikiriko were not just classmates in 1987, but alumni of the school.
Bishop Arloe emphatically commended Hon. Eke for providing 10 security guards to man the school. He also thanked the old students association for repairing the school bore holes and provision of 200 student desks.
However, the Principal also enumerated some of the challenges facing the great school which include library and laboratory equipment, sports equipment, ICT center among others.
