Church Mulls Plan To Empower More Less Privileged In Society
Gods own People Evangelical Ministry has restated its commitment towards the empowerment of more less privileged persons in the society.
General Overseer of the ministry, Rev. Adekanmbi Martins, said this during the presentation of special awards to the Bursar of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Boma .B. Obi.
He said the church, since inception 27 years ago, has done so much towards the upliftment of thousands of less privileged persons in the society.
According to him, the church has paid school fees to several students in both primary and post -primary schools, including the universities while those into cultism have been brought to Christ.
Martins said the ministry will continue to follow the injunction of Christ which is to do good to all men, irrespective of their nationalities.
The cleric said the award was in recognition of professor Obi’s contributions to the development of the society, adding that it was the tradition of the church to honour those who impacted positively to the development of the society.
He said the gesture was to set standard for others to follow as well as encourage the younger ones.
The award was part of activities to celebrate the church’s thanksgiving service.
The service has as its theme: “Impartation Of Grace For Higher Levels”.
Speaking while presenting the award on behalf of the church, chairman Yoruba Community, South-South and South-East, Dr. Adewale Alabi, urged youths to toe the part of hardwork as success in life does not come by accident.
