Wike’s Flag-Off Of 10th Flyover Excites Ariolu
The flag-off of the construction of the Rumuokwurusi-Elimgbu 10th flyover project at Tank Junction on the East-West Road, today, has attracted the commendation of the authorities of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
A statement signed by the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Barrister George Ariolu, said that the people joyfully welcome the Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, and his entourage to the flag off for the construction of the Rumuokwurusi-Elimgbu flyover, today.
“This flyover will be the tenth to be constructed by Mr Projects in the space of four years, a feat that cannot be matched by any state governor in the country.
“Even before the completion of some of the flyovers, traffic congestions are already easing in the state.
“Your Excellency, May I on behalf of the vice chairman, councillors, leaders and the entire people of Obio/Akpor Local Government, thank you for the numerous projects you have executed in Obio/Akpor and Rivers State”, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Ministry of Works has ordered the closure of the newly completed Oroabali flyover and all access roads leading to the project.
A statement by the ministry said it “wishes to inform the general public that there will be closure of Oroabali fly-over bridges and all service lanes from Sunday, February 27 to Tuesday, March 1, 2022 for the completion of construction works and commissioning.
“We regret the inconveniences this may cause road users”.
