Unknown Gunmen Kill Another Four Police Officers In Enugu

Barely 48 hours after unknown armed men attacked and killed three policemen on “Stop and Search” duty along Timber Junction, Independence Layout, Enugu, on Thursday, another four officers of the Command were on Saturday evening shot dead at a police check point by yet to be identified hoodlums.
The Saturday killing which happened at a police check point at Amodo Obeagu in Enugu South Local Government Area of the State brings to Seven (7), the number of Police men shot dead by unknown gunmen between Thursday 10th and Saturday 12th, February 2022.
It was gathered that the hoodlums operating in a Sienna bus stormed a police check point where the officers were on duty and opened fire on them, killing four of them instantly, while some managed to escape narrowly.
The Tide also realiably gathered that the lifeless bodies of the policemen have already been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary in Enugu.
Meanwhile, tension has heightened in Enugu State and fears gripped residents particularly those resident within the Capital City and environs following the ugly development that has kept people wondering why the police has not been able to fight back when attacked or arrest the gun men after attacking them.
However, when contacted, the Enugu State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Daniel Ndukwe said,” Police Operatives have been duly deployed and are on the trail of the unknown armed assailants. You will be updated with further development, please”, he assured.
