Traditional Ruler Petitions CP Over Terrorism

A traditional ruler in Okarki, Egenni in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief John Owen, has petitioned the Commissioner of Police over what he described as acts of terrorism committed against his people by neighbouring Odieke community.
Chief Owen, who stated this in a petition made available to The Tide at the weekend expressed regrets that notorious criminals armed with dangerous weapons had molested his community members on several occasions.
He remarked that the menace of criminals in the area was alarming.
Sir Owen accused the Odieke people of destroying and stealing their economic crops.
Chief Owen stated that criminals numbering up to 20 from Odieke community had invaded their lake and abducted a man who was doing legitimate business with his community.
He urged the police to swing into action and investigate the matter.
He accused the chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area of being biased in favour of Odieke people.
