Police Arrest Three Women, Fake Soldier,18 Suspects In Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested 22 suspects for various alleged criminal activities across the state.
Among the 22 suspects paraded include three women, Favour Ajuzie, 30; Chioma Chibuike, 43; and Comfort Abatuo, 56; where accused of child trafficking as well as Adamu Siraju, fake Army officer.
The state Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday disclosed this while parading the suspects before journalists at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt over the weekend.
Eboka said the police men rescued Favour Boniface, aged four years; and Miracle Boniface,12years; who were kidnapped on June, 2021 by a child trafficking syndicate, adding that policemen on patrol around Oil Mill Market by Eleme Junction contravened a tricycle with Registration No. USL 130 QN, and on search and stop routine exercise, discovered a locally made pistol, and arrested the occupants, Usman Suleiman, 18; and Illiyasu Musa,18.
According to him, a total of 11kidnappers,eight armed robbers and three child trafficking suspects were arrested, while four locally made guns,10 cartridges, two magazines,44 ammunition ,nine vehicles, and four phones were recovered from the suspects during the various operations.
“Osagie Igienhon aka General kidnapped one Ekuchie Ogbonna ‘m’ on 24/12/2021 at Oyigbo.
“His Toyota Camry car was sold to Hamisu Hassan, who took it to Kogi State for sale, also.
“On 8/02/2022 along NTA Road, Apara Link Road, one Hon. Austin Asomeji was kidnapped and his Lexus ES350 saloon car with Registration No. YAB 118 AU, stolen.
“He was later rescued and the suspect: Barisitam Nbianee ‘m’ 32 years; and Miracle Victor ‘m’ 20 years arrested.
“Also, a Toyota Corolla car Registration No. ABJ 907 CB was recovered from them.
“Again, on 24/02/2022 while on stop and search duty along Airport Road, Aluu, a motorcycle was stopped for routine check. One Nankap Dashe and Chukwudi Okafor ‘m’ both based in Imo State, were arrested and three Android phones recovered from their under wears.
“On 23/02/2022, along East-West Road, Mbiama, one Nwigbo Thomas, who was driving his Toyota Corolla car, was shot and the car snatched from him. The sound of gun attracted RRT men who gave them a hot chase and arrested the suspects, Obu Justice and Okpara Godbless”, he stated.
The state commissioner of police used the opportunity to express gratitude to God Almighty for His divine enablement to the command in its quest to rid the state of undesirable elements and reduce crime to the barest minimum, and assured the citizens of the state that the momentum in the fight against crime and other vices would be sustained to ensure peace and tranquillity continue to reign in the state.
