NOA Harps On Patriotism Among Young Nigerians

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has harped on the need for the younger generations of Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of patriotism, integrity and love for the country.
State Director of the Agency, Barrister Young Ayotamuno, said this in Port Harcourt during the presentation of a trophy to Community Secondary School Rumuomasi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area for emerging the winner of the 2022 Integrity Club Competition in the state.
The Integrity Club Competition was instituted by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) nationwide to instill the virtues of honesty integrity and love of the nation among the younger generations of Nigerians.
15 schools in Rivers State participated in this year’s edition of the competition which has the theme: “Fall In Love With Nigeria”.
Ayotamuno told the students to avoid vices such as fraud, corruption and any other thing that could bring shame to the nation.
He also told news men that the competition was to instill in young people the virtues of honesty, patriotism as well as fall in love with Nigeria adding that the competition has been on for the last five years.
Also speaking, the commissioner representing Rivers State in the Independent Corrupt Practice and other offences Commission (ICPC) Mrs. EkereUshiere, urged the students to take their studies seriously.
MrsUshiere also enjoined them to avoid anything that will bring disrepute to the nation and their families. She also called on them to be patriotic and honest in their dealings.
Principal of the school, Mr. IjehAtaisi, said falling in love with Nigeria means changing character to conform with the values of Nigeria.
He said the students should reflect this character in their everyday life and commended the NOA for the integrity competition.
