Coach Bala Nikyu is grateful to Nasawara United fans for helping his return to winning ways in the NPFL on Wednesday.
The Solid Miners came from a goal down to record a famous 2-1 win over record Nigeria professional football league winners Enyimba of Aba at the Lafia Township Stadium.
Nikyu watched his side fell behind after 13 minute of play as Enyimba’s Victor Mbaoma scored the first goal of the game.
However, it didn’t take long before Nasawara United responded with their equaliser after five minutes with a goal from Tope Oluwole.
The last season’s Aiteo Cup finalists completed the comeback in the 90th minute when Shammasu Mohammed scored the winner.
Speaking after the game, Bala Nikyu described the result as a great one for his side .
“It was a great result for  my  team,  even  though I  don’t  see it  as  a revenge  for last season’s  defeat (1-2) to the same opponents.
“The first half was a bit  difficult  and,  of  course,  the  players  knew that it  would n’t  be  nice for us  to end the  game  with  a draw or loss after  the  bizarre adventure in  Bauchi during the  weekend.
He also thanked fans for their support all through the game.
“But I must thank the vociferous  home  fans  f or  the irrelentlessness. They  are truly  the twelfth player,” he said.
