Kalabari Stakeholders Hail Wike’s Chieftaincy Award
Some stakeholders in Kalabari Kingdom have hailed Governor Nyesom Wike over the conferment of a chieftaincy title on him by the Kalabari Kingdom.
Recall that Governor Nyesom Wike was last weekend conferred with a chieftaincy title of ‘Se-Ibidokubo’ of Kalabari by the people of Kalabari Kingdom.
Amanyanabo/Onuekein of Obonoma, King Enenibo-Ofori Dateme Obonogina said Governor Wike deserves greater award from the Kalabari nation.
Dateme said the present administration under the leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike has embarked on many people-oriented projects in the three local governments.
The traditional ruler listed some projects embarked upon by the Governor in the Kingdom to include the Trans Kalabari high way, the Abonnema-Obonoma ring road and the Abonnema-Obonoma sand filling.
Dateme also listed other projects as the Abalama sand filling project and a host of other projects in the Kingdom.
He said the chieftaincy title was in appreciation of what the Governor has done for the people.
The Amanyanabo/Onu-ekein also assured him of the support and loyalty of Obonoma people to his administration.
Also speaking, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, Hon. Isobo Jack said the event was devoid of political undertone.
Isobo Jack said the people of Kalabari Kingdom are showing their appreciations to the governor for his love for the people of Kalabari, adding that Governor Wike has surpassed previous administrations in terms of human and infrastructural development in the Kalabari Kingdom.
According to him, projects ranging from roads to sand filling have been carried out across the three local government areas.
On his part, Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government, Hon.Roland Sekibo said the Kalabari people are showing appreciation to Governor Wike.
He also commended the Governor for the war against illegal oil bunkering.
