IAWPA Set To Organise UN Int’l Day For Mother Tongue Language
Members of International Association of World Peace Advocate (IAWPA) have concluded arrangement to organise the 2nd edition of United Nations Internationa Day ofl Mother Tongue in three ONELGA Languages comprising Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of Rivers State.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt ahead of the epoch- making event billed for today, February 21, 2022, at Omoku Town hall, the General Secretary of IAWPA, Rivers State Chapter, Amb. Judy Agbor Enyiche, disclosed that the event which has its theme: Using Technology for Multilingual Learning, under the distinguished chairmanship of Engr. Nelson Ekperi (A global diplomat and eminent Peace Ambassador) would be graced by Barr. Nwachukwu Obi Obuoha Nnam-Obi III, Oba (Eze Ogba) of Ogba Land as royal father of the day while Executive Chairman of ONELGA, Hon. Vincent Job, will be the special guest of honour.
Amb. Enyiche also restated that the educational event will not only help both the young and old in the communities to imbibe the local languages of ONELGA but also to promote other tradition and culture of the area that have been in silence over the years.
“Besides, we are also looking forward that the forum would equally be used to foster peace and tranquility among the good people of ONELGA both within and in diaspora,” she emphatically stated.
She, however, called on all and sundry including friends from far and near to avail themselves of the opportunity to attend the event which promises to be very inspiring and historic in the annual records of ONELGA, Rivers State.
