Community Restates Zero Tolerance To Cultism
The Tornwe Royal House of Kono Boue the Khana Local Government Area has pledged its support to the Rivers State Government for the prosecution of the King of Boue Clan, Taalor Nwidae Tornwe, for alleged involvement in cultism.
The family said this in a statement and also restated its commitment to ensure zero tolerance for cultism in the clan.
The head of Tornwe’s Royal House of Kono Boue, Matthew Atangsi Marcus Tornwe, said the family rejected all acts of violence, kidnapping and murder that have been waged on the people of Boue clan.
According to the statement, the royal house will continue with the pattern of leadership which will bring about unity, peace and prosperity in Boue clan.
Meanwhile, Chief Matthew Atangsi Marcus Tornwe II, has expressed sadness over the current state of affairs in the clan.
He said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
“It is with great regrets that I hear of serious allegation levelled against HRH Taalor Nwidae Tornwe, the regent appointed to act in my absence.
“I wish to categorically State on behlaf of myself, the Tornwe Royal House and the entire Boue clan and Kono Boue in particular that we disavow completely all acts of violence, kidnapping, murder and the terror that have been waged on the innocent people in and around our communities.
“I state that without prejudice to due process, we pledge full support for the efforts by the state and local authorities to rid our communities of the menace of cultism and to return our land to the beacon of peace, unity and progress it has always been.
