CIID Takes Over Case Of Gang Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl

The State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) of the Rivers State police command, Port Harcourt has taken over case of alleged defilement of a 12-year-old girl by three boys aged 15, 15 and 14 years respectively at Rumuodomaya in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Our correspondent reports that two of the boys Chibuike and Christopher were arrested on Monday while the third suspect who is also 15 years old is at large.
The two teenagers were transferred from Human Rights Desk, Police headquarters to State CID yesterday.
The father of the alleged defilement survivor who pleaded that his name and that of his daughter should be concealed told our correspondent that in November 2021, the three teenage boys abducted daughter in Rumudomaya on her way to dispose off refuse at about 7pm and took her to a secluded area where she was allegedly defiled by the trio and held for three hours with a warning not to disclose their identities.
The father disclosed that the arrest of the suspects comes two months of discreet investigation by the human rights desk following a petition he wrote to Commissioner of Police which was minuted to the Department in Police headquarters.
The father of the girl also revealed that medical examination conducted on his daughter showed she was badly brutalised.
As at press time, the two teenage boys are being detained at SCIID, Port Harcourt.
