Broadcasters Begin Membership Drive In S’South …As SBN Storms PH, Friday

The South-South Zone of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters has concluded plans to launch an intensive drive to boost its membership in the zone.
A statement signed by the Chairman of Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON), Zone F,Mr. Frederick Fabor, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, and made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, indicated that the drive would begin on Friday.
The statement reads in full: “The formal inauguration and membership drive of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters in the South-South Zone holds in Port Harcourt, the Rivers capital on Friday, February 25, 2022.
“Chairman, Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, Zone F, Mr. Frederick Fabor, who announced this in a statement issued in Yenagoa, said the event will be hosted by the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Port Harcourt Network Centre.
“The launch scheduled for NTA multipurpose hall, Mgbuoba, along Choba Road begins at 10am.
“The Chairman of BON and Chief Executive Officer of Multichoice Nigeria Limited,Mr John Ugbe, and the Executive Secretary of BON, Dr Yemisi Bamgbose, are also expected at the Zonal launch.
“The statement further urged general managers, managing directors and chief executive officers of all private, public, commercial and community electronic media houses in the South-South to attend the historic event.
“The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters is to serve as the regulatory body for the practice of broadcasting as a profession.”
