Agency Hints On Delay In NIN Service Provision

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says its National Identity Number (NIN) verification service will be temporarily out of service due to maintenance being carried out by its service provider.
This was stated in a press statement titled “NIMC NIN verification service temporarily unavailable”, was made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
“The National Identity Management Commission wishes to inform the general public that its NIN Verification Service is temporarily unavailable due to the maintenance service being carried out by one of the Commission’s network service providers”, the statement said.
According to the statement,  NIMC wanted to assure the public that verification and authentication services would be restored once the maintenance was concluded.
The agency also apologised for the downtime and promised to restore the service.
It further recommended the use of the alternative tokenisation verification platform made available through the NIMC app.
“The Commission apologises for any inconveniences this might cause our esteemed customers”, it stated.
