RSUBEB Moves To Restore Sanity In LGEAs’ Admin
In an effort to restore efficiency to local government education administration, the management of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), has issued strategic guidelines for effective coordination of the board’s activities at the 23 local government education authorities in the state.
In a release signed by the Director of Administration, Supplies and Public Relations of RSUBEB, Mr Karibi George, in Port Harcourt, tagged, “Decision of the Management on Board Operations of the Local Government Education Authorities”, the Executive Chairman of the board, Ven. Fyneface Akah directed all the supervising directors of LGEAs of the board to reside in their various LGAs in other to promptly furnish the board and its partners with relevant information when needed.
The statement also directed all the supervising directors in the 23 LGEAs to submit comprehensive reports on compliance with transfer of personnel made by the board in the 2021/2022 academic session as well as vacancies existing in certain desks and positions in their areas of jurisdiction.
“Supervising directors are required to nominate suitably qualified staff for consideration to the board”.
The statement barred LGEAs from approving applications for maternity leave or using letter head paper of the board to introduce staff in their various local government areas to external bodies like banks or usurping the powers of school heads in the preparation of monthly nominal roll of staff.
“Supervising directors, who breach the guidelines are liable to be removed from office and demoted or compulsory retired from service”, it stated.
