Forum Of LG Chairmen Hails PDP Govs’ Unity, Drive To Rescue Nigeria
The Forum of 2018-2021 Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State has expressed gratitude to the governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for their unity of purpose and drive to rescue Nigeria from the clutches of bad governance in 2023.
To this end, members of the forum have hailed the governors for turning out in their numbers to attend a very strategic meeting in Port Harcourt, today, to chart the way forward for the party ahead off the general election.
A statement signed, last Friday, in Port Harcourt by the Chairman, Forum of 2018-2021 Chairmen in Rivers State, Hon. Victor Ihunwo, urged the governors to use the opportunity to solidify the foundation of the party laid at the recently concluded national elective convention in Abuja, as a veritable means of heading to the upcoming elections in 2022 and 2023 better fired up to achieve victory.
The statement reads in full: “Forum of 2018-2021 Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State heartily welcomes the governors elected under the platform of the PDP to the Garden City of Rivers State for the PDP Governors’ Forum Meeting on the 16th and 17th of January, 2022.
“Rivers State is the home of the PDP, and we pledge our unalloyed loyalty and support as you carry on the mission of rescuing Nigeria.
“We wish you a successful deliberation.
“We hail Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for his key role to midwife the birth of a renewed Nigeria that Nigerians yearn for and beckon to the PDP to come to its rescue from the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government at the centre that has failed woefully to deliver the dividends of democracy which they promised Nigerians before the 2015 presidential election.
“We commend the governor for his stronger commitment towards ending the environmental hazard of soot as evident in the will power, vigour, and strength that have seen him live on the ground at various illegal crude oil refining sites to put a stop to their illicit business which threatens our lives and existence as Rivers people.
“Kudos to you Sir, as without a doubt, your resolve and determination to see to the elimination of soot in our environment and the restoration of cleaner and better air to be taken by the people are already yielding positive results: as there has been a drastic reduction of the soot in the environment.
“We pray God to continue to give you long life and keep you healthy to continue to serve the state better and fairly as we also look forward to a Renewed Nigeria come 2023”, the statement said.
