Head Coach, Finidi George, is frustrated with Enyimba’s poor run in front of goals but has called for more patience from the fans.
The eight-time Nigerian Champions are having a torrid time in front of goal in the NPFL so far this season, scoring just five in eight league matches.
They sit third from bottom on the list of the teams with the least goals in the league, they are just a goal better than MFM FC and Niger Tornadoes (four).
“I will not say I’m bothered because three points are the most important thing,” Finidi said when asked if he’s beginning to worry.
“Yes, I understand that they have to finish off these chances. But what can I do?. We train on it, but I can not enter the pitch and shoot those balls. So the players that we have to score those goals.” he said.
Despite the lack of goals, Enyimba sits fourth of the league with 13 points from 8 games but has 0 goal differences.
Asked why his forwards were struggling to put chances away, the former Ajax Amsterdam and Real Betis winger said:
“We have, It is based on confidence and when they start scoring, the confidence willl return. When we start winning more than a goal, then we’ll be fine.”
