Etche Cultural Officer Bags Chieftaincy Title

The Rivers State Chief Cultural Officer in Etche Local Government Area, Chief Charles Nweke, has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of Omenala 1 of Etche Ethnic Nationality.
His conferment was done by the Onyeishi Etche, Eze E.N.B Opurum, at Egbelubi Ndashi in Etche Local Government Area.
While performing the coronation ceremony, Eze Opurum said Charles Nweke is now a full member of the Supreme Council of Etche Traditional Rulers and Chiefs and therefore is entitled to operate as a member of the council of chiefs.
As the president of the council, Opurum issued him a certificate of recognition as member of the council and charged him to lead by observing the rules and regulations of the Etche Divisional Council of Chiefs.
He further charged him to abide by the oaths, not to enslave any of his community or family members in the course of delivering his function as a traditional chief of the community.
Meanwhile, a prominent traditional ruler in the area and the Ogbugaa I of Isu Etche, Eze Joseph Amaechi, commended the Etche Monarch, for the honour done Eze Charles Nweke, describing it as a recognition of selflessness, diligence and hardwork.
Speaking during a reception in honor of Eze Charles Nweke at his country home, Umoudu Mba clan, the university don and chairman of the occasion, extolled Eze Nweke as a man of virture with vision and focus.
He noted that his commitment to the promotion of Etche culture and tradition has further enhanced peace and unity of Etche people.
Also, chairman, Mba Clan Youth Council, Comrade Darlington Ukaegbu, said the honour was desearving of Eze Charles Nweke, who has used traditional and cultural practice to unify Etche people.
He added that the new leadership role bestowed upon him will spur him to do more for the growth and development of Etche. He urged the entire Etche people to give him their support.
Reacting to his coronation, Eze Charles Nweke said the chieftaincy title confered on him was a reward for his effective and efficient service to Etche nation.
While thanking the Onyeishi-Etche, Eze E.N.B. Opurum for acknowledging his sacrifice for Etche land, Eze Nweke said such gesture would encourage hard work and excellence among Etche people.
