Cleric Harps On Benefit Of Thanksgiving
The Bishop, Diocese of Okirika, Church of Nigeria, Angelican Communion, Rev Enoch Atuboyedia, has called on Christians to imbibe the culture of regular thanksgiving to God.
Rev Enoch said this at St Martin’s Anglican Church, Ogu, in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, during a thanksgiving service organised by the executive director, finance and administration, Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA), Alabo Rev Francis Ada Ebenezer Onye, at the weekend.
Enoch regretted that most people did not appreciate what God did for them, adding that appreciating God moves him to do more.
The cleric said praising God is a way of attracting more blessings, stressing that time has come for both Christians and non-Christians to see the act of praising as an integral part of worship.
The Bishop also decried the high level of moral decadence in the society and called for fear of God.
He commended the celebrant for recognising what God had done for him, and urged others to emulate him by thanking God for their successes in life.
The celebrant, Alabo Rev Francis Ada Ebenezer Onye, said the service was to thank God for his present position as Executive Director, Finance and Administration Niger Delta Basin Development Authority.
He said he had come a long way in politics, and has gone through several huddles in his political life.
Onye said, God had been faithful and kept his promise to him.
He called on other leaders to cultivate the fear of God by giving thanks to him.
