AFCON: Nigerians Praise Eagles’ Performance Against Egypt, Sudan
Nigerians have praised the Super Eagles performance after they thrashed Sudan 3-1 on Saturday at the ongoing Africa Cup Nation (AFCON) in Cameroon.
Speaking with Tidesports after the game at a viewing centre in Port Harcourt, former defunct Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt player, Ibe Orlu, said he is impressed with the performance of the Super Eagles against Sudan.
According to him, the quality of the team under the interim Coach, Austin Eguavoen was technically sound.
“ I am quite impressed in the first game against Egypt and today against Sudan.
They did well today and we are expecting more of that from them.
They are not there yet but I believe they will make us proud in the AFCON.
Their performance today is quite an impressive team work, individual skill and the technical crew they did a great job.
They played like a hungry lion, I am very happy with what I saw today. I think they still have some jobs to do.
I think every department of the team today did well even the goalkeeper,” Ibe said.
Also, in his reaction, a business man, Uncle Amadi said that the Eagles have made him to remember the 1994 squad of team.
“ I am very happy with their performance today, we need more of that from them.
Playing like this, I think the team has what it takes to win the AFCON.
I am very happy with their performance today, I think they should keep it up”, Amadi said.
Earlier, Monday Essian stated that, the Eagles put in a great performance even though they did not play like what we saw against Egypt in the opening match.
According to him, today, they made lots of mistakes with the ball, adding that they still need to do better.
He noted that the coach has done well for the team, saying that he is expecting more of that in their last group game.
The Super Eagles are topping Group D with six points after playing two matches.
