VC Tasks Monarch On Love, Unity

The Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, Prof Nlerum Okogbule, has felicitated with the Eze of Rebisi Kingdom and Paramount Ruler of Port Harcourt, Eze Isaiah Uche Elikwu, on his recognition and elevation as a First Class Traditional Ruler by Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike in accordance with the ruling of a court of competent jurisdiction in the State, and urged him to work in synergy with other chiefs in the Kingdom in order to foster love, unity, oneness and togetherness.
Okogbule, who gave the charge during a visit with some officers of the university to the monarch in Port Harcourt recently, expressed delight that the Paramount Ruler is an alumnus of the university, having studied Law in the institution, and stressed the need for the monarch to run an all-inclusive administration so as to write his name on the sands of time.
He said the entire university was elated over the emergence of an alumnus of the school as the Paramount Ruler of the university’s host community, and urged him to be a worthy ambassador of the great institution, adding that the purpose of the visit was for the university to maintain a good working relationship with its host community.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the university is a place of teaching, research and community service, particularly to the host community, and thanked God for choosing the monarch amongst other contenders to the exalted Rebisi Stool.
In his response, the visibly elated Paramount Ruler of Rebisi Kingdom, Eze Isaiah Uche Elikwu thanked the Vice Chancellor and members of his entourage for coming to felicitate with him over his emergence as King.
While noting that Prof Okogbule was one of his lecturers in the university, Eze Elikwu expressed delight that he had with brilliance practised Law for 20years, contending that his excellent performance had one way or the other contributed to his emergence as the Paramount Ruler of Port Harcourt today.
The monarch promised to always synergise with his Alma Mater in any capacity to achieve set goals.
Eze Elikwu, however, appealed to the university to provide jobs in form of employment to his people, particularly those within Grade Levels 1to 6 cadre in order to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.
