TotalEnergies Commission Hygiene And Sanitary Project In RSU
As part of effort to provide good health in the Rivers State University (RSU), a multinational oil company, TotalEnergies, and partners with the Nigeria Sao Tome and Principe Joint Development Authority (NSTPJDA) and Exonmobil have commissioned Hygiene And Sanitary project in the Rivers State University in Port Harcourt.
Speaking during the commissioning and handover of the project, yesterday, at the university campus, the Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Prof. Nlerum Sunday Okogbule, commended the companies for the social responsibility which they have been doing over the years.
He said that he is very excited that his university was chosen from the South-South zone for the magnificent project, adding that, the facilities will definitely go a long way in the university.
Okogbule, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic, Prof. Valentine Omubo Pepple assure the multinational that the university authority will form a action committee to ensure the facilities remains in good condition for next 10 to 20 years coming.
He thanked the join venture for they knowledgeable ideas to provide the hygiene, especially this period of COVID-19.
Also in his remarks, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of TotalEnergies Upstairs Companies in Nigeria, Mr Mike Sangster, said that the essence of the project is to prevent the public from infected diseases adding that, the project is in line with their commitment and welbing of the economy and development in the country.
He stated that, it is they planned to extend these importance hygiene sanitary project in the six politicsl zone in Nigeria.
Sangster, who was also represented by the Executive Director Corporate Service, Mr Olatunji Akinwunmi, urged the university authority to ensure that the project is sustainable used for the positive impact of the institution.
He thanked it partners who joined in the process of providing resources to fund the local development project.
According to him, the project commissioned, yesterday include, 10 toilet divided into two parts male and female, handwatchig basic and dryer, with a borehole with 1.5 metal, solar power, a 3.5KVA and over held water tank and other facilities.
