Teachers, Students Decry Lesbianism, Gay Practice In School
Teachers and students of Community Secondary school, Rumuokwuruosi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, have cried out over the mind-blowing rate of lesbianism and gay practice in the school.
They bared their minds when the Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices ( POCACOV), led by its state Chairman, Amb Eke Onwuka led the team to the school yesterday.
A teacher, who pleaded anonymity, expressed regrets over the ugly situation in the school.
According to her, female students find pleasure in toying with the secret parts of each other’s body even when lessons are on.
She said that the boys either did not spare themselves in similar act and called on parents to pay more attention to their children at home.
“When you people came, you only talked about cultism without mentioning the main challenge we have here, which is lesbianism and gay practice”, she said.
Some students who corroborated the teacher’s submission, pleaded with more Non-Governmental Organi-sations to come to their aid.
They explained that the act of sodomy in the school would soon become an acceptable norm, if nothing urgent was done.
They were of the view that the school ought to have a stand by group to handle them on the need to shun all manner of social vices and similar offences.
They also said that cultism was practised in the school, but expressed the hope of it declining with the arrival of POCACOV.
Meanwhile, the leader of the group, Amb. Eke Onwuka, has promised the school of plans to establish a permanent police unit in the area.
His promise was as a result of the people’s plea to fight and end vices in the school.
He further warned the students on the importance of staying off , and added that juvenile prison awaits any child offender, who may use age as an excuse.
