PDP Chieftain Empowers 42,000 Women, Youths In Kaduna

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Lawal Usman, has empowered about 42, 000 women and young people in Kaduna State with skills to enable them start their own businesses.
Usman, popularly called ‘Mr LA’ told The Tide source in Zaria that the beneficiaries were trained in different skills like tailoring, welding, jewelry making and baking.
“This year alone we have empowered over 42,000 women and youths through our skills acquisition programme.
“These people were given start up packages in form of money and tools to start their businesses and become self reliant,” he said.
Usman added that he had also provided scholarship to 500 students of tertiary institutions across the state to enable them complete their studies.
“We have disbursed about N50 million to about 500 students of tertiary institutions in the state in 2021.
“ Some of the students were those affected by the increase in school fees by the State Government.
