Monarch Hails Wike Over Chokocho-Igbodo Road Project

The Paramount Ruler of Okehi Kingdom in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Stanley Munonye Ogbu has commended the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike over the flag off of the reconstruction of Chokocho-Igbodo Road project by his administration.
Ogbu, who is the Onye Ishi Agwuru of Okehi Kingdom, made the commendation while addressing chiefs, traditional rulers, women and various youth groups in the area, during a Christmas visit in his country home, Akwukabi community, at the weekend.
The monarch, who described the flag off of the road project as the best Christmas and New Year gift to Etche people, especially the people of Okehi Kingdom by the state governor, said that the road, when reconstructed, would restore the lost economic benefit and glory of the people occasioned by the dilapidated conditions of the road.
According to him, the people of Etche, especially Okehi Kingdom and its neighbouring Omuma communities have suffered a lot due to the bad state of the road, adding that the affected communities bounded by the road, have lost both human and economic resources to the worsening state of the road.
“The flag off of this road and the immediate commencement of work on it is an affirmation that the state governor is a listing governor and a brother and friend to Etche Ethnic Nationality. What I want to tell the governor is that as a people, we are happy with this your magnanimity and we will continue to support your government at all times”, he said.
Ogbu, however, tasked the contracting firm handling the project to ensure that it was delivered as scheduled and in accordance with specifications, adding that the people would not accept any substandard and shady job delivery.
He assured the governor and the Government of Rivers State of his determination to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that peaceful atmosphere was provided for the execution of the project, while calling on all hands to be on deck to ensure the successful completion of the project.
The monarch assured the governor of the support of the kingdom to his administration, adding that the project would remain memorable in the history of the Etche nation.
