Prayer, Evangelism Key To Overcome Challenges -Banigo

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has said that the church and nation must go back to the basics of prayer and evangelism in order to overcome the present challenges.
Banigo stated this shortly after receiving a Special Jubilee Award from the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Niger Delta North, at the LA Kings Event Centre, Stadium Road, in Port Harcourt.
Represented by her Special Assistant on Legal Matters, Barrister Ishmael Blue Jack, the deputy governor said the healing of any nation or people does not come from political party manifesto but from the Almighty God, through the church, noting that the church must genuinely repent and take issues of prayer seriously.
According to Banigo, “If the church takes seriously the issues of prayer, we would see the healing of the land, so as we celebrate 25 years as a diocese the call is still very urgent to go back to the basics of prayer and evangelism.”
Banigo, who commended the diocese for the giant strides recorded in the area of church planting, evangelism, and missions, urged them not to rest on their oars but rather intensify efforts in reaching the unreached with gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The deputy governor, who thanked the bishop of the diocese for the fitting honour and award bestowed on her, congratulated the diocese on their silver jubilee anniversary.
In his remarks, the Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese North, Rt. Rev. Wisdom Budu Ihunwo said 25 years was a significant milestone in the history of the church, because the Anglican Church was a peculiar denomination, where the leadership of the church continues from one person to another, noting that this dispensation was unique and was built on the prayerfull and well-designed goals of its predecessor.
The bishop stated that the Episcopal Silver Jubilee Award was bestowed on individuals whom God had used to further the frontiers of the church in various ways.
