Commissioner Expresses Joy At Existing Peace In Youth Organisation
The Commissioner for Youth Development in Rivers State, Prince Obi Ohia has expressed satiafaction over the ability of the Ministry to lay a foundation of peace amongst the youths of Kalabari kingdom.
Ohia, who stated this on Tuesday, when Kalabari Youth Council paid a courtesy call on him, noted that alternative conflict resolution can be employed to achieve peaceful co-existence amongst youths in the State.
He regretted that as a result of over-zealousness, youths often choose to fight dirty without considering the negative effects of such crisis on them in the long run.
He revealed that the Ministry has succeeded in resolving lots of conflicts between youths, corporate bodies, traditional rulers and even within various Youth bodies.
He commended the Kalabari Youth Council worldwide for accepting to resolve their conflict amicably even as he urged them to continue in unity, togetherness and oneness.
He admonished the leadership of the youth body to pilot affairs of the association with sincerity of purpose in order to strengthen the existing peace in the youth body.
He assured that the Ministry was going to study the framework presented to it by the youth body and make inputs and possibly give its seal of endorsement for authentication of the document.
Earlier, the President General of Kalabari Youth Council Worldwide, Ambassador G.I. Madodoye said the group came to appreciate the Ministry for restoring peace in the organization.
The youth group also presented a portrait to the Honourable Commissioner for showing magnanimity and the peaceful resolution of the crisis that rocked the group a few months ago bringing the youth body back as one indivisible family.
