The Head Coach of Goldek FC of Port Harcourt, Emmanuel Amachi, has said that  the ongoing Rivers State Keves Football Competition is useful to club managers because it create an avenue in improving upcoming footballers.
He stated that the competition has improved  a lot of players in the state because before now, there have been no tournaments after several weeks and months of trainings.
Amachi said  this on Monday in a chat with Tidesports shortly after his boys (players) defeated United Soccer FC 2-0 in their opening match of the tournament at the Sharks Football Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The Goldek coach explained that the sponsor of the competition, Chief Ikenna Okafor has a good initiative.
“We are the better side today even though we scored the two goals in the first half without scoring again in the second half.
We are going to work on a  way of scoring many goals in our next game.
We know the importance of the tournament having played in the first edition.
It had been training without any tournament but today with Keves football competition, I think the boys are happy because they now have tournament to compete in,” Amachi said.
He appealed to  the organisers of the tournament to  continue as it has helped to keep the youth busy.
“I commend the sponsor of the competition for bringing the youths together in this way,” he stated.
