RSG Condemns Killing Of Two School Children In PH

The Rivers State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon Osima Gina, has condemned the accident that claimed the lives of two school children at the Isaac Boro axis of Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Gina, who spoke with The Tide, yesterday, at the scene of the incident, said his attention was drawn to the incident few minutes after its occurrence.
According to him, the cause of the accident was not known due to circumstances surrendering it.
On the whereabouts of driver, he said he (driver) was in police custody to help in further investigation, adding: “The lifeless bodies of the victims have been deposited in the mortuary. The driver is with the police now”.
The lorry marked ‘DAF’, he said, was believed to have left the Warf area before the accident occurred.
The Tide learnt that the victims were all male from same parents.
When The Tide visited the scene, the lorry was still at the spot steaming.
The commissioner, however, hinted that a tow van would be used to move the vehicle to a safer place to avoid being looted by hoodlums.
All efforts to reach the image maker of the Rivers State Police Command, SP NnamdiOmoni, for comments proved abortive, as he could not answer or return several calls placed on his cell phone.
