Cleric Tasks Christians On Gratitude
The District Superintendent, Rivers District, Assemblies of God Nigeria, Rev. Daddy Ibulubo has told christians to exploit the multi-dimensional blessings associated with a thankful heart.
Ibulubo gave the advice in Port Harcourt at a thanksgiving service to mark the successful Golden Jubilee celebration of the creation of Rivers District as an administrative entity of Assemblies of God, Nigeria.
The Tide reports that the Jubilee celebration which held on 3rd December 2017 was attended by the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Banigo and several other dignitaries.
Since then, the Presbytery of the Rivers District Assemblies of God Nigeria had made it a policy to remember the seamless and hitch-free celebrations every year by thanking God.
Ibulubo described praise as expression of gratitude through songs to God and noted a lot psychosomatic challenges could be cured by thanking God and positive mental attitude.
Extolling the power of gratitude and thanksgiving, Ibulubo who is the chairman, Board of Governors of Pentecostal Theological Seminary, Eleme reminded that it was because of the necessity for Thanksgiving that even Jesus was mindful to ask “Where not ten lepers healed, where are the nine”.
Speaking on the Efficacy of Praise in Season of Thanksgiving, the man of God decried ingratitude and noted with dismay that it was a leading causes of social ills and violence.
According to the Superintendent who is also the Special Adviser on Pastors Children to the State Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and the African Director of the African-Israeli Alliance Initiative said “gratitude makes the devil a liar, deepens our faith in God and helps people live in the present”.
He urged Christians to cultivate and imbibe the virtue of gratitude and thanksgiving every day as to receive greater blessings from God and living fulfilled on earth.
Also speaking, the Father of the Day and the Amanyanabo of Kala-Ogoloma Kingdom in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, King Godday Olunwa, commended the leadership of Assemblies of God, Rivers District for deeming it necessary to thank God annually.
According to the king, gratitude is a debt every mortal owes God and urged the church not to rest on her oars.
The programme attracted people from all walks of life.
