Rivers United’s skipper, Festus Austin, has stated that the Port Harcourt-based side is delighted with their progress in the CAF Champions League.
Rivers completed a double over Tanzanian side, Young Africans, following Sunday’s 1-0 win in Port Harcourt for a 2-0 aggregate win to the next round of the competition.
Austin, speaking in a chat with Tidesports source after the game, said the team can at this point maintain its focus which is to get to the group stage of the CAF Champions League after which, they can now restrategise and redefine how far the team can actually progress.
He used the forum to thank the Rivers State Government led by Chief Nyesom Wike, for making available funds to pilot the activities of the club.
