A talented upcoming artiste, Miss Janet Gogo, has called for the promotion of indigenous talents in the music industry as she appealed to the established artistes to carry along the upcoming talents by organising events for them to showcase their talents as well as financial grants to promote their musical works.
The young artiste who spoke with the Tide Entertainment noted that the growth of the music industry in Nigeria should be a collective effort between the government and the private sector and should not be left in the hand of one sector alone.
The circular and gospel music singer appealed to well meaning Nigerians in the entertainment enclave to come to her aid in order to produce her songs and developed her God given talent. She said “I have over five great songs that are wasting due to lack of sponsorship, I therefore appeal for financial and moral support”.
Janet Gogo stressed that the music industry in Nigeria is an evolving money spinner for the nations economy, the younger generation of Nigerian musicians should be adequately encouraged to inject new talents in the industry and be able to step into the shoes of the older artistes when they retire from active performance in order to ensure continuity in the industry.
