PDP Flaks APC Over Comment On Wike’s Scorecard
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken the former spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chris Finebone, to the cleaners over his comment on the state governor’s scorecard in the past six years.
The State Publicity Secretary to the PDP, Gbara Tambari Sydney, described Finebone’s comment as unpatriotic and deceitful.
Gbara said the APC’s former spokesman does not fully appreciate the magnitude of Wike’s performance, considering the fact he was from opposition, and has surprised many detractors with his sterling performance.
The PDP publicity chief stated that from the onset, Wike showed he was focused, and was bent to transform Rivers State beyond the odds.
He reminded the APC chieftain that when Wike came on board, there was nothing left for him to work, recalling that the immediate past governor even threatened that Wike would find it difficult to succeed due to lack of funds.
Besides that, he observed that Wike has turned the table, and has been able to reverse the odds by building massive infrastructure projects that bemuse even the opposition.
Gbara called on Finebone to always make comments based on facts, and not sentiments that were coloured with political bias to score cheap points.
It would be recalled that, last Monday, Governor Nyesom Wike, had given his six-year scorecard at an event to mark his sixth year in office, which attracted comments.
Finebone had claimed that the governor had not performed commensurate to the monies received so far in the state coffers.
The opposition chieftain further claimed that the governor has not been transparent with state finances so far.
