The technical manager of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma has described their victory against Warri Wolves of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 32 as very tough despite his boys fatigue.
He pointed out that in this stage of the league, no team wants to drop points both home or away so, it makes the game very tough.
Eguma said this on Sunday in his post match interview with sports journalists, just after the pride of Rivers recorded  another victory in the NPFL,  at the Adokeyi Amiesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt.
“ I am  very happy that we won the game, you can see that it was a  tough one.
At this stage of the tournament no team wants to drop points, the reason is that some teams are fighting to win the league, and others are fighting to escape relegation.
So the winning is a good result for us, “ Eguma stated.
The visitor get the early lead in the second minute of the first half through a powerful short by Emmauel  Ihezuo while the pride of Rivers equalised in the 23 minutes and recorded the winning goal in 61 minute by Godwin Aguda, who scored the two goals for United.
With the result the pride of Rivers moved to the third position on the league table with 55 points after playing 32 matches.
Eguma commended his boys, saying, despite fatigue  arising from traveling from a long journey from the AITEO cup in Lafia, where Rivers United beat Sokoto United 2-1 to advance to the next  stage of the tournament, the team was able to win the match.
