A new airline, the Ibom Air, has began commercial flight operations at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
The Ibom Air which is owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government, formally began flight operations at the Port Harcourt Airport penultimate Monday, with flight operations enroute Abuja and Lagos at the moment.
The airline, it was gathered, is currently enjoying the patronage of many passengers who described its services as commendable.
Henry Nwator, one of the airline passengers, told The Tide that the airline was well prepared for business.
“With what I have seen, they will win the hearts of many air travellers in this area. Their flights (aircrafts) are new, and have both business class and economy class.
“Apart from that, you notice that their flight ticket both on Abuja and Lagos routes are moderate and attractive to the people. This is a clear indication that they mean business and will make impact here.
“I have seen some airlines that just started, no business class, and yet their prices are not moderate as it were, and they are not punctual”, he said.
The Tide observed that the Ibom Air passengers are increasing on daily basis as many arrival passengers are always seen alighting from the aircraft.
The high rate of patronage, it was gathered, stems from good preparations made by the airline, coupled with the newness of their aircrafts and moderate flight ticket.
Before the official commencement of flight operation, the Ibom Air staff had been on duty post for the past three months, making preparations for commencement of flight operations.
