Edo Inland Dry Port’ll Create Jobs For Youths -MD
The Managing Director, Atlantique Marine and Engineering Services, promoters of AMES-Edo Inland Container Dry Port, Mr Charles Akhigbe, says the port will create jobs for thousands of unemployed youths in Edo State and beyond.
Akhigbe, who insisted that the dry port would also improve economic activities across the city when fully operational, sought for patronage from port users across the country to facilitate its operations.
He gave the assurance during a sensitisation meeting to bring all the potential port users in Edo State together under the aegis of AMES-Edo Inland Dry Port.
The managing director said when fully operational, the port would yield huge revenue for both the state and the federal government.
“It will be a customs port, and a lot of activities at the Lagos Port will be done here at Edo State, yielding huge resources for the state and the federal government”, he said.
Akhigbe explained that the aims of the meeting were to sensitise the public and bring all the potential port users in Edo State together under one room.
He disclosed that AMES recently signed a joint venture agreement with the Edo State Government on the AMES-Edo Inland Container Dry Port.
