BCS Threatens Legal Actions Against False Information Peddlers

The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star says it will not shy away from taking legal action against persons  who sustain their campaign of calumny against the organisation.
The Brotherhood said this in a press briefing in Port Harcourt, while speaking against the claim by a popular man of God in Port Harcourt that he was responsible for the demolition of the BCS Presidential Worship Centre in GRA Port Harcourt.
It would be recalled that a popular man of God in Port Harcourt recently claimed that he was responsible for the demolition of the presidential Bethel located at GRA Port Harcourt.
However, spokesman of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Mr  Edet Archibong, said the worship centre which was donated by the late Governor of Rivers State, Chief Melford Okilo, was demolished by one of his  children.
According to him, “in  2005, one of Chief Melford Okilo’s sons came around with the intention of taking over the property, it was explained to him that the property was a gift from his father to BCS  and he should discard such intention.
“The man was bent on taking back the property and BCS could not contest it, so there was no resistance
“The Chief’s son had his way and the worship centre was demolished in March 2009 after the chief passed on in July 2008,” he said.
He described as shocking and unbelievable  to hear a man of God claim that the worship centre was demolished because it was a shrine”.
Archibong advised members of the public to be mindful of their utterances, adding that the church had watched quietly for too long and tolerated all the accusations and falsehood levelled against BCS and her leadership.
He said as a corporate entity with all legal rights, the BCS will not shy away from exercising, if this campaign calumny continues.
