Future Stars Football Academy (FSFA) of Port Harcourt, on Saturday, defeated Kings Team B, 5-4 through penalty shootout, in the semi-final of the ongoing Under-13 of The Kings Football Competition, at Number Six Field, old Port Harcourt township.
The match saw huge spectators, as both teams displayed what could be described as football artistry to entertain their audiences, played goalless draw at regulation time, went straight to spot kick.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tidesports shortly after the game, last Saturday, the Captain of FSFA, Pepple Samuel, said he has strong conviction that his team will lift the trophy.
The captain said, he is optimistic that they will win the championship, because of training they had before and during the competition.
“I feel so happy that today we are in the final of the tournament.
“Our coach has been instructing us during training on how to get good results in the competition and today we are there at the final. God “will see us through.
We need victory in the final and that is what we need.
“I believe we are going to do it,” Samuel said
The skipper explained that the victory was as a result of obeying the coach instructions by playing two touches and thanked his coach for the technical knowledge he impacted to them.
He further commended the organisers of the competition, Coach Chike King for giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents.
“I love the tournament. I think the competition has given us more knowledge about the round leather game,” he stated.
