Sunshine Stars, Yet To Pay Ogunbote After Resignation
Former Coach of Sun Shine Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote, has stated that he believed the Akure-based Professional Football League side will do what is just and right by ensuring that he got paid his accrued financial emolument being salaries and bonuses, owed while he was there as coach of the team.
Ogunbote, who resigned last week Thursday as coach of the side, told Tidesports source he was being owed a number of months and will expect the club chaired by the Ondo State Deputy Governor to offset his entitlements while he worked as coach of the club.
He also added that the resignation had become imperative because his integrity was also at stake with the current situation at the club.
“I didn’t resign because I have a place in mind, I just had to resign because I have to protect my integrity too, at the same time to give way for others, to make myself a sacrificial lamb so that things will be done right.
“I know, I had an agreement and I had contract with the team, we all know that there were some financial constraints, but I’m believing that they will pay me my money,” he added.
