RSG To Commission Mother And Child Hospital, Today
The Rivers State Government will commission its Mother and Child Hospital at Rumuomasi, today.
The 132-bed hospital has 50 delivery rooms, six Modular Operating Theatres, Invitro Fertilization Equipment, Fluoroscopic Equipment and Mamography Equipment.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, yesterday, said that, “This is a bold attempt by Governor Nyesom Wike to boost infant and maternal health in the South-South Zone”.
Also today, the foundation stone for Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease Treatment Centre to be located at Rumuokwuta would be laid, the statement added.
The centre, when fully operational, would reduce medical tourism in Nigeria.
Both events would have the Minister of Health, Prof. Osagie Ehanire as Special Guest of Honour and Governor Nyesom Wike as Chief Host.
