Khana Council Boss Names Ex-Army General As Security Adviser
The newly sworn in Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Hon Bariere Thomas has appointed a retired, General of the Nigeria, Army, General Nnaa Dike as the Chief Security Adviser to the council.
The Khana LGA boss who announced this in Bori, headquarters of the local government during the swearing in of the Vice Chairman of the local government, Hon Nugbenekpugi Ibrahim, and the formal inauguration of the Legislative Arm of the council, said the move was to properly address the security challenges that have plagued the area.
He said his administration will invest in security infrastructure and ensure that the lives of the people are protected, and called for the support of all security structures to tackle the security menace in the area.
The Chairman, a former Commissioner for Special Duties in Rivers State, also assured that he would run a consultative and all inclusive governance and render quality services and stewardship to the Khana people, adding that human capital development and delivery of people oriented projects would top his development agenda
He said, “ our electioneering campaign was to deliver quality services to the people of Khana, we have no excuse than to hit the ground running, I will be on ground to serve my people, we will visit the wards to get the opinion of the people and receive memos from them on their development needs to enable us serve them better, the people of Khana deserves better living standards, and we will try our best to put in place the right infrastructures and services for the people”.
Also speaking to newsmen at the Council Secretariat, the Member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Dumnamene Dekor, the new helms man of Khana LGA and his team and urged them to be focused in the discharge of their statutory functions to bring quality governance to the people.
The Chairman also announced the appointment of Mr Isreal Yeekpa, as Secretary to the Council, Lekara Nwidoobee as Chief of Staff, and Kenneth Yorwika as Director of Press.
