The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has urged members of the Task Force on Immunization and Primary Healthcare not to let their guards down in the quest to eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases in the state.
Banigo stated this at the 2nd Quarterly Meeting of the Rivers State Task Force on Immunization and Primary Healthcare at the Government House in Port Harcourt, last Friday.
The deputy governor stressed, “We do not need to take our response architecture down, we need to sustain, we need to be resilient in the face of Covid-19, in order not to experience resurgence like we see happening in other parts of the world. We need to strengthen our security, and also our health service system”.
The deputy governor, who is also the chairman of the Rivers State Task Force on Immunization and Primary Healthcare, re-echoed Governor Nyesom Wike’s commitment to continue to give Rivers people the best in healthcare delivery.
She thanked members of the task force for their sustained commitment and hard work towards immunization in Rivers State, which includes polio, Covid-19 and other preventable diseases.
