Maeba Dismisses Upland, Riverine Dichotomy
Former Senator representing South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator, Lee Maeba, says there is no upland and riverine dichotomy in the state.
He made the claim during a grand reception and chieftaincy award on the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike by Ogoni elite group, KAGOTE in Bori.
He said, “there is no riverine and upland dichotomy in Rivers state because Wike has dismantled it.
Meaba added, “ the old politics is cancelled with Wike projects in all parts of the state. We are now united.
The Chairman of Governing Council Elechi Amadi Polytechnic praised Wike for protecting and defending the Ogoni people.
He said Wike’s achievements speak volume in all parts of the nation, as he commended the governor for reviving the old alliance between Ogonis and the Ikwerres.
Recalling the closeness and alliance which Late Senator Obi Wali and Ken Saro Wiwa shared, the former senator said Wike had rekindled old partnership and brotherhood.
Earlier, Chairman of the occasion, Senator Ken Birabi described Wike as a glimmer of hope for the people of the South following his achievements in the face of economic crunch.
Besides that, he said Wike was courageous and has maintained the lead in championing good governance in the country.
The ex Third Republic Senator reminded the governor on the need to focus on economic mainstay of the people.
