Eguma Expresses Fears Over League Resumption
Rivers united boss, Stanley Eguma, has stated that he expects the league’s second stanza resumption this weekend, to finally happen, but reveals he has his fears all along amidst the postponements of the resumption of the second stanza and the league body’s antecedents of declaring the leading side when faced with such situation.
Eguma, speaking in a chat with Tidesports source, said the greatest fear he had was not to get to another situation where the league winning team will emerge abruptly, same with continental position, like had been witnessed in Nigeria over the last three seasons.
“The sad part of this is that it has happened before when problem of resumption will be coming at the end of the day, they will declare the leading team at that time as champions and they will now go to the continent. It has happened in the NPFL twice.”
