Commander Seeks Media Support For Crime Fighting 

The new Special Tactical Squad, SP Lawal has described the media as partners in policing and crime fighting in every society.
Lawal stated this yesterday in his office along Obiri Ikwerre/Airport Road in Port Harcourt.
The commander said his interest working with media knows no bounds.
He said in his bid to rid the state of criminal elements, the command deserves the full support of the media as well as members of the public in the area of accurate information and intelligence.
He promised to be proactive in providing vital information that would be required by the media as it relates to the command even as he enjoined the media to be fair in their reportage.
Lawal also appealed for assistance in the areas of logistics, operational vehicles and equipment of their office.
In a related development, residents of Kala axis of Port Harcourt metropolis have described the Kala Divisional Police Officer, DPO, as a professional officer who means well for the state.
They said CSP Ahmed Dayya, deserves special commendation for his proactiveness and efficiency since he assumed office.
They said crime has reduced drastically in the area since he took over as Divisional Police Officer (DPO).
They said judging from his antecedents and the recent attack on police formation, he had displayed absolute professionalism in handling issues.
They urged him to continue to live up to expectation by making Nigerians proud.
