Wike’s Aide Lists Gains Of Job Portal In Rivers
The Senior Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike on Information and Communication Technology ( ICT), Mr Ibifuro Asawo, has called on the Rivers people to make good use of the ICT training provided by the Rivers State Government.
Asawo made the call at an ICT training programme in Port Harcourt, recently.
The training manual made available to The Tide showed that the RivJobs topped the agenda.
According to the training manual, the RivJobs was tagged the initiatives of the Rivers State Government via the ICT Department with the aim of addressing the issue of unemployment.
It explained that the issue of unemployment could be tackled by training and equipping job seekers with opportunity for internship or by connecting them to jobs and placements that align with their career path.
“Rivjobs is aimed at tackling the prevalent challenges of organisations finding quality talents to recruit, while job seekers find it difficult to get notifications of job openings within the state “, it said.
The manual provides a one-stop solution centre for the state to gather data and statistics pertaining to employment status in the state.
Other objectives listed include employability, bridging the gap between employees and talents and the coordination of the performance of the state labour market.
The manual hinted that the platform was a robust online portal that connects employers to talents and serves as dashboard for monitoring job creation and employment activities.
Key functions of the portal include, registration and profiling of job seekers, employment/ recruiters and listing of job openings, employability for entry level applicants and professional trainings and certifications.
