Rivers Angels GM Hails Team’s Performance
General Manager of Rivers Angels FC , Matilda Otuene -Oyiloha, has expressed satisfaction over the performance of her team at the recently concluded Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL ) Super Six competition held at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu- Ode.
Otuene-Oyiloha stated this yesterday during an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to her, the team is known for its pedigree in the chart of football in the country and had proved its supremacy by sustaining the title once again
“The girls are good at what they do and had proved that they are Champions indeed. There is no doubt that they will do us and the country proud when the chips are down in Morocco come next month,”
Earlier, Head Coach of the team, Edwin Okon, had said that he is very happy to win back the league title this season and now had the opportunity to represent the country at the WAFU Zone B qualifying series for the CAF Women’s Champions League scheduled to hold next month.
“The team is no pushover, it has made its mark in the country and will now go and show the stuff they are made of to the African continent and preparations are in progress. The Jewels of Rivers will go out there and finish the good work they started,”
“No gain saying, when l say that the team is going there to represent Rivers State and Nigeria well and bring back honours to their father land,” Coach Edwin said.
The West African Football Union WAFU, Zone B, qualifier kicks off on May 9 in Morocco.
