Oyigbo Chairman-Elect Assures On Good Governance

The Chairman-elect of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Hon, Okechukwu  Akara, has assured that he will replicate the development agenda and good governance policies of the Rivers State Governor,  Barr Ezenwo  Woke, in  Oyigbo.
Hon. Akara who disclosed this while addressing newsmen shortly after receiving his Certificate of Return alongside his councilors at the headquarters of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, in Port Harcourt on Monday, said security, human capital and infrastructural development would be given top priority in his administration.
He assured that, “the Oyigbo people will be given a sense of belonging to enhance grassroots integration and development “.
He pointed out that Oyigbo as a municipal area, would get a facelift in terms of social and infrastructural   development, noting that the people of Oyigbo deserved better standards of living.
Hon. Akara, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, said he would use his wealth of experience as a former lawmaker to work with the Legislative Arm of the council to provide good and inclusive governance for the people.
He said his administration would also tackle the challenges of sanitation in the area, especially the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the area.
Hon. Akara thanked the Oyigbo people for giving him their mandate and urged them to remain law-abiding.
