Monarch Bags Peace Award

Eze Ikemba of Ulakwo isi in Etche Local Government Area, Eze Onyeche Promise Obinna, has received a prestigious iconic peace award from the Seventh day Adventist Church.
Presenting the award to Eze Obinna, the University of Port Harcourt Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sammy Kpenu, said the church deemed it fit to appreciate those who had contributed to the peace and development of Etche among whom was the recipient.
He urged the recipient to ensure the sustenance of peace as according to him no meaningful development could be achieved in an unsafe environment.
In his speech, Eze Obinnasaid he felt joyous over the award coming from a body of Christ and noted that the recognition would challenge his focus on unity, peace and development of the land.
Eze Ikemba 1 assured that he would partake in building an edifice for Christ Jesus.
The occasion also witnessed presentation of letter of appointment to the Eze as national president, Association of Surface Tank Oil and Gas Retailers of Nigeria.
Presenting the appointment letter, the Board of Trustees chairman, Comr. Marchs Okotete, said the association decided to present this letter of appointment in the House of God because without God they could do nothing.
Okotete said the mantle of leadership bestowed on him was based on his immense contribution to the body and hoped that God would guide him in his new assignment.
Responding, the new president, Eze Obinna said the association had trained more than 500 personnel in Port Harcourt who would checkmate illegal activities bordering on pipeline vandalism, oil bunkering as well as other unwholesome activities bedevilling the oil and gas industry.
The ASTOARN president reiterated his four-point agenda which included partnership with oil and gas security agencies to end the menace bedevilling the sector, illegal procurement, distribution and retailing of petroleum and generating revenue to the federal government.
He assured that issues leading to gas explosion, fire outbreak at fuel stations, domestic and industrial accidents must be curtailed to the barest minimum, and noted that dealers must adhere to the safety regulations to save lives and property of the people.
