LG Polls: PDP Has No Competition In Etche, Anyanwu, Others Insist

As the April 17 date for Local Government Elections in Rivers State gather momentum, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Etche Local Government Area has assured that the party would sweep all available positions on offer.
The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) had fixed April 17, 2021, for the conduct of Local Government Elections across the state.
The PDP stakeholders spoke, last Saturday, at Okehi, headquarters of Etche Local Government Area during the flag-off of campaigns for the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon Obinna Anyanwu, and his vice, Gladys Nweke, alongside 19 councillorship candidates.
The occasion was also used to formally hand over the party’s flag to the 19 councillorship candidates, who were admonished to go to their various wards and mobilise support for the PDP.
Elder statesman and PDP Leader in the local government, Prince Emma Anyanwu, expressed appreciation to the party faithful for coming out in their large numbers, and urged them to ensure they campaign vigorously in their various units to ensure that the PDP wins in available positions.
He stressed further that Etche people have every reason to vote massively for the PDP as the leader of the party in the state, Governor Nyesom Wike, has shown love to the people through numerous projects in the local government area.
Also speaking, PDP chieftain and two-time commissioner in Rivers State, Chief Allwell Onyesoh, who commended the campaign committee for the large turnout of party faithful to the rally, advised the councillorship candidates to embark on ‘door to door’ campaign to preach to the electorates the good works of Governor Nyesom Wike.
The Chairman of Etche PDP Campaign Council, Hon. Austin Ben-Chioma, in his opening speech, appreciated members of the party for their efforts and strength for coming out for the vigorous campaign to secure victory for the party.
Ben-Chioma, who is also, Rivers State commissioner for urban development, urged all PDP members to ensure they secure their votes so that the party will come out victoriously come April 17.
